Free Tax, TIN & VAT Guidance
ℹ️
Personal voluntary service. This is offered by one individual — Chowdhury Remon — not an organisation or institution. No certificate, diploma, or formal qualification is issued. Sessions are educational and informal. For certified training, see BTEB. Both online (Zoom/Google Meet) and offline (Dhaka) sessions are available — mention your preference when applying.
Most people in Bangladesh hear the words TIN, VAT, and tax return every year — but very few actually understand what they mean, who they apply to, and what happens if you ignore them. This session explains it all in plain language.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a TIN if I earn below the tax-free limit?
Yes — if you operate a business, own property, have a bank account above BDT 10 lakh, or need to register a vehicle. TIN is required in many situations even if your income is below the taxable threshold.
Is it free to register for e-TIN?
Yes. e-TIN registration at etaxnbr.gov.bd is completely free. No payment to any third party is required. Be cautious of people who charge money to register a TIN — it is free to do yourself.
What happens if I do not file a tax return?
TIN holders who do not file by 30 November face penalties including a BDT 2,000 surcharge for the first year of non-filing. Many services that require a TIN certificate now also require proof of return filing.
